We regret to inform you that the open to the public side of the business will be closing its doors permanently with the date to be announced soon. This was not our decision it has come from a few reasons. Legal disputes with some of our neighbours (which we won but cost us a lot) causing us to have to reduce the business hours, a reduction in car parking in Wyoming rd soon to be worse if the council goes ahead with the no parking. And now the landowner, deciding he will no longer let me operate Golden Ridge Animal Farm from our family’s property, which I took over and have been running the business for the past 26+ years. I have tried everything in my power to reason with dad, but he has refused.

Good news is I will continue to operate the mobile farms under the Golden Ridge Animal Farm business name.

For numerous reasons mainly council, we have been unable to find a suitable replacement location, to continue a farm that people can visit. So, the area has now lost its only DPI licenced farm for children to visit. After 40+ years it will be a great loss.

​

To say we are all devastated by the closure of Golden Ridge Animal Farm is an understatement.

All the time, effort and years upon years of hard work to improve the farm to get it to the fantastic business it is today. To all the wonderful teachers, principals and students who visit and support us year after year, All the hundreds and thousands of happy families that have visited and the amazing staff we have had over the years. The orphan baby animals we have raised and re homed, as well as teaching people how to care for their new pets and the children who’s visited our farm will be a lasting memory.  These have all made it worth the effort and years spent on the farm.

I would just like to say thank you for visiting us. For taking the time to teach your children how to interact with animals in a safe and loving environment. For supporting our small family business. For supporting our rescue and raising as many orphan baby farm animals each year as we could.

 

Thank you for stopping past at the end of your visit and letting us know how much you enjoyed your day. It put a smile on our faces every time you did.

I would just like to say you have made all the hard work worth it.

 

From the farm family, my sisters our children and from all the staff . . . Thank you to everyone.

Thank you for being part of our journey, for memories we've built together over the years and all of your support. We will miss you dearly. We will miss turning up to the best job in the world even if it was hot, cold, wet and muddy at times, It was always so very rewarding and special.

We will miss all of our amazing customers, families, schools and friends who we have gotten to know over the years, who have seen our children grow up and made friends with all our amazing animals, we will miss you all!

Important Information

• Our last day of trading will be announced soon.

​

• All bookings to visit will need to be booked online before you visit, as we will book out and no other booking may become available.

​

• Any gift vouchers must be redeemed before the closure date. You must make a booking via our website before you visit as we will book out.

​

• Customer who had school visit booked or private events after this date will be contacted.

• All mobile farm events will go ahead as normal.

​

• 2/3 of the animals will have to be sold between now and closing date. If you are looking for pets we will have times available for people to come to buy the animals that can’t be kept.

​

• If you have photos of the farm from the past 45years we would love to see them, please emails them through or post to our Facebook page or show us if you come past for one last visit.

​

• If we can get council to get onboard, we may be able to open something similar at Maroota late 2026 (but not optimistic)
