Play groups and families
Welcome to Golden Ridge animal farm. The farm is open to the public, play groups and birthday parties. (Schools, pre schools, child care centres)
* When you arrive at the farm you are greeted by the farmer, who will take you into the barn and will give a brief talk about the farm the animals and the program,
* The farmer will hand out chicks, ducklings and rabbits for the children to hold.
* Next is a walk around the farm were th children get to feed the sheep and goats with bread and see the horses, cows, ponies, alpacas, ducks, geese, calfs and all the childrens' favorite, the big old bull.
* We next go into the dairy where the cow is waiting to be milked, and after a brief talk everyone gets to have a go at milking the cow.
* Bottle feeding the baby lambs and goats is next, we show you how to bottle feed properly and explain a little about it.
* We save the best for last, all the children love the bumpy wagon ride around the farm and most of the mums and dads come back with smiles as well.
At the end of the program you are welcome to have a picnic lunch here.
Every person who comes to the farm has the chance to try all activities.
There is no canteen or food outlet at the farm but tea and coffee is free.
Times: weekdays 10:15 arrival 10:30 start - the program will finish around 12:00 : weekend 10:45 arrival 11:00 start - the program will finish around 12:30
Mini mobile to play groups
Something different for your play groups day. Why not have our mini animal farm come to you, The children will love to play with the hand raised baby animals.
What we can provide is - - a mature goat - a mature sheep - baby lambs - baby kid goats - piglet - puppy - ducklings - rabbits - chicks
We are there for up to 2 hours and in that time we let the children hold the smaller animals, bottle feed the baby lambs and goats, brush and feed bread or pellets to all the animals.
The pen we set up is 5ft x 5ft. The mature goat and sheep get tied up on the outside of the pen, The baby lambs and goats go on the inside of the pen.
Times can be varied and will be arranged on booking.
You will also receive 2 free family passes to the farm valued at $75.
